HELLFIGHTER MAGAZINE: I started a new side project

HELLFIGHTER MAGAZINE: I started a new side project to exercise demons with illustration and typography. I got the fictional cover idea from @bob_caruthers and even used firecrackers from #goldmine on the first image. Thank you, Bob.

The name HELLFIGHTER comes from the John Wayne film "Hellfighters" (that's the Borger, Texas oil field stuff coming out) and the "Harlem Hellfighters," a diverse, mainly African American military unit that fought with distinction despite a myriad of shitty circumstances in WWI. This will be a mix of new work and some repurposed work I've done in the past, but was never used. The target is one cover bi-weekly.

My first issue addresses the elephant in the room—the recent American election. It specifically examines the difference between a resilient leader and a reactive leader. Hope you all enjoy following along 👋 #illustration #design #typography
