MOTO HELMETRY: Feeling late ‘80s almost early ‘90s today. JT ALS 2 model famously worn Ron Lechien (among others). He ran a super thick number 6 on one of his Hondas back in the day, so built around that because I remember it from when I was a kid. Decided to switch from Scott to Oakley on the goggles for this one. @oakleymotorsports @jtracingusa

MOTO HELMETRY: The second selection for this serie MOTO HELMETRY: The second selection for this series is the Bell Moto III. This was really the first modern, prototypical full-face moto helmet (in my humble opinion). It was super popular in the late ‘70s / early ‘80s—so much so Bell reproduced a retro model that is pretty popular—it’s not for me, though. They just don’t look right in today’s world 🤔 My dad had an original back in the day and when I think of helmets in general his white moto III always comes to mind first. I was feeling some early ‘80s Motocross Des Nations team USA vibes when I designed the paint scheme for this one 🇺🇸 (I’ll be in France for 2023 😀). I used the iconic blue and white stripe team helmet scheme from the early / mid 80s as a starting point. Moving away from bell to JT for the next one… @bellhelmets @bellracinghq @scottmotosports #bellmoto3 #vintage #dirtbikestuff #helmetsarecool

MOTO HELMETRY: I started a new helmet design serie MOTO HELMETRY: I started a new helmet design series for fun. If you know me you know I’ve been obsessed with helmets since I was a toddler. The plan: 8-10 famous motocross helmet models with period appropriate visual designs. I started with the Bell Magnum—the quintessential open face moto helmet (imho) with the gnarly JT Racing mouth guard. My uncle ran this setup in the early 80s and everything about it always stuck with me as bad ass. He had multiple pairs of Scott goggles in this color scheme, so I built this first design around the red-orange and yellow. 37 and 371 were my numbers back in the day 😀 I wrote a little more and linked to some inspiration in the online journal 📓(link in bio). You can also see pics of my uncle’s helmet lower in my feed. I’m thinking Bell Moto III next followed by the JT ALS II. Thoughts, moto people?? @bellracinghq @bellhelmets @scottmotosports @jtracingusa
